Virtual Event - February 26th - Young Adult Author Frank Morelli

Frank Morelli is the author of the young adult novelsOn the Way to Birdland(2021) andNo Sad Songs, a2019 YALSA Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers nominee, a VOX top Hopepunk title, and winner of a 2019 American Fiction Award for best coming-of-age story.The first book in his debut middle grade series,Please Return To: Norbert M. Finkelstein, was released in September 2019 and was named aBook Excellence Awardfinalist. Morelli’s fiction and essays have also been featured inThe Saturday Evening Post, Cobalt Review, Philadelphia Stories, and Highlights Magazine.
A Philadelphia native, Morelli’s life was transformed when he accepted a teaching fellowship in the NYC Public Schools and discovered that a lifetime spent eating cafeteria tater tots would be a small price to pay for a chance to shape the future. He continues to split time between the page and the classroom, and will forever be amazed by how each one enriches the other. Morelli lives in High Point, NC with his best friend, their obnoxious alley cats, and two hundred pounds worth of dog. The Library and Frank are working with Kensington Woods School a charter school in the Hamburg area. All 9th and 10th grade students are getting a copy of the novel, On The Way To Birdland, to read and hopefully many of them will join us for the virtual event. The students get to keep their copy of the book they were given. The publisher of On The Way To Birdland and No Sad Songs is Fish Out of Water and they are located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
